A Passion for Learning
My name is Kate DeBoer. I started the company
English For You (EFY) with my husband in 2006 in Killarney, Ireland. Then in 2017 moved location to Shrewsbury in the UK. My aim is to teach English that is useful for everyday life and the workplace and to enable students to prepare for exams such as PET, FCE, CAE and OET as well as BET. My students have a 100% pass rate for FCE which is the most popular exam so far. I believe that learning should be enjoyable and challenging with achievable goals.
Having worked for EFY and Killarney Refugee Centre I have taught students from many countries such as: Germany, Spain, Poland, Russia, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Thailand, China, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Burundi, Eritrea, Somalia and Sudan. I have taught a wide range of age groups from children to grandparents.
I co-wrote and taught a Job Skills and English Language Course for Adults for FAS (the government employment Agency in Ireland.) I also worked for KIS; Killarney International Studies.
